NetID and password
To set or reset your NetID password, you must first set up a new user profile on MSU's Self-Service Password Portal. This process replaces the MyInfo PIN login. You can set up a new user profile by visiting password.montana.edu. You will be asked to configure challenge questions and set up email and/or text authentication for future use.
Once you have set up your new user profile, you can set or reset your NetID password. You can change your NetID password at any time and do not need to wait for the official expiration date. You will receive notifications reminding you to reset your password in advance of the expiration date.
If you are new to MSU, you will need to enter your MSU ID and date of birth. If you have set a password before 16 August 2018, you will also have the option to enter it during this step, as long as it hasn't expired.
After resetting your NetID password, remember to update it on every device and app where it is used, including email apps and MSU-Secure wireless. You can update your NetID password on your mobile device by opening the Mail application used to access your MSU email account. Tap the Menu (More) icon, select Settings, then Manage Accounts, and select your MSU email account. Tap Password and enter your new NetID password.
