Carleton University has one of the most generous scholarship and bursary programs in Canada. Last year, more than 13,300 scholarships and bursaries totalling over $27.1 million were awarded to undergraduate students.
Scholarships
If you have been admitted to Carleton for fall entry with an admission average of 80% or better, you will automatically be considered for a renewable Entrance Scholarship. To be eligible for an Entrance Scholarship, you must be entering Carleton for the first time from high school or CÉGEP and have no previous attendance at post-secondary educational institutions. To be considered for an Entrance Scholarship, your complete application for admission and all required grades must be received by June 15.
Up to 13 students are selected annually for the Carleton Capital Scholarship, with one recipient from each province and territory. The scholarship is valued at $2,000 for the first year and is awarded in addition to other Entrance Scholarships. To be eligible, students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons entering the first year of a degree program and pursuing post-secondary studies for the first time. Students must also demonstrate participation in extracurricular activities and a strong academic background (with a minimum admission average of 90%).
Bursaries
A bursary is a monetary award granted on the basis of financial need that does not need to be repaid. The undergraduate bursary program is intended to supplement, not replace, students’ primary sources of funding such as OSAP, government student financial assistance from another province, or loan funding from a financial institution. The Carleton University Entrance Bursary will provide additional funds to help meet the direct education costs of your first-year studies. To be considered for an Entrance Bursary, apply online by June 30. High school students who have taken on leadership roles in extracurricular activities and community service may also be considered for a Leadership Entrance Bursary.
Awards
Up to 15 scholarships valued at $1,000 each will be awarded to students in the House of Commons Page Program who are entering an undergraduate degree program at Carleton. This scholarship is awarded in addition to other Entrance Scholarships.

Private Lessons in Applied Music:
For the 2024-25 academic year, the fees for individual instruction in all instruments and the use of practice facilities are as follows:
- A term fee of $396 is billed for weekly (usually 9) half-hour lessons (1 credit) per term.
