Withdrawal refunds
To withdraw from DCU, you must complete the R-27 under "Change to Registration" on the Registry Forms Webpage. Deadlines for withdrawals and the associated fee liabilities are outlined on the DCU website.
Students who withdraw before 31 October will have no fee liability and will be refunded if they paid fees at the time of registration. Students who withdraw before 31 January are liable to pay 50% of the Student Contribution Fee and 50% of the HEA tuition fee. Students who withdraw on or after 1 February are liable to pay 100% of the Student Contribution Fee and 100% of the HEA tuition fee.
Students who officially withdraw or defer before 31 October will have no fee liability and will be refunded if they paid fees at the time of registration. Students wishing to repeat an entire year of study or selected modules should refer to the fees webpage for information on how much they should pay.
Students who have overpaid tuition fees are entitled to a refund. Students who withdraw after 31 January are not entitled to a credit of tuition fees, and 100% of the HEA contribution to funding will be claimed from this date.
Requests for refunds should be sent to the Student Fees Team ([email protected]) from either the student or a member of DCU staff. In the case of visa refusal, the request should be sent to [email protected] with a copy of the refusal letter from the Department of Justice. The request is then processed by the Fees Team based on the credit on the student account. The amount will be refunded to the card used to make the original payment or to the nominated bank account on the system.
