Who was James W. McLamore?
James Whitman McLamore, born on May 30, 1926, in New York City, was an American entrepreneur. He was the founder and first CEO of the Burger King fast-food franchise, alongside David Edgerton. Notably, McLamore also created the Whopper sandwich. After selling Burger King to the Pillsbury Company in 1967, he continued as CEO for five more years and remained chairman of the company until 1976.
