Gamecock Football: Student Ticket Access And Availability

University of South Carolina students are some of the most passionate and dedicated fans of college athletics. The university recognises this and has set up The Cockpit, the official student section of all Gamecock Athletics, to unite students under one identity. Football tickets are free for all eligible students, but they must participate in the request process each week for a chance to receive one. Students must request a ticket through the Cockpit Rewards app, and tickets are awarded based on the number of Cockpit Reward points they have.

Student ticket eligibility

To be eligible for a student ticket for football at the University of South Carolina, you must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours or have paid the Athletic Events Fee. This fee is a bond that goes to the Athletics Department to support facility upkeep and does not guarantee a ticket. Students must request a ticket each week and are awarded on a priority basis using the Cockpit Rewards points system. Students can earn points by attending other sporting events.

University of South Carolina students are eligible to request football tickets through the Cockpit Rewards app. The request period opens on Friday of the week before the game at 10 am and closes on Tuesday at 3 pm. Students will be informed on Wednesday morning if they have been successful and will be emailed about which ticket they received. Lower-level tickets are awarded based on seniority and rewards points, and remaining requests will be given upper-level tickets. Students who are unsuccessful or who did not request a ticket can claim any remaining upper-deck tickets during the On Demand period, which begins on Thursday at 3 pm.

Students with lower-level tickets will enter through the 'Student Gate' and receive a wristband, whereas students with upper-level tickets will enter through the Northeast corner gates or any public non-student gates. Upper-level tickets are located in sections 508 and 509.

Students who no longer plan to attend the game must cancel their ticket by 5 pm on the Friday before the game to avoid receiving a penalty strike. Two no-shows will result in limited access to upper-level seating for the rest of the season, and three no-shows will result in a revocation of football ticket privileges for the rest of the season.

Requesting tickets

To request a ticket for a football game, students must first ensure they are eligible to participate in the student ticketing process. This means being enrolled in 12+ credit hours or having paid the Athletic Events Fee to the Bursar by the relevant deadline.

Once confirmed eligible, students can then request a ticket through the Cockpit Rewards app. The window to request a ticket is from Friday the week before the game (from 9 or 10 am) to Tuesday at 3 pm. It is important to note that requesting a ticket does not guarantee you will receive one. Tickets are awarded based on priority, with the number of points required to receive a ticket varying for each game. Students with the most Cockpit Reward points will be given priority.

If a student is awarded a ticket, they will be notified via email on Wednesday at 10 am. They will then need to claim their ticket through the Gamecock Student Rewards App. Students will need to present the barcode from their mobile ticket to enter Williams-Brice Stadium.

Claiming tickets

The claiming period for football tickets is from Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday at 3:30 p.m. It is important to remember that you do not have a student ticket until you have claimed one. After claiming your ticket, you can access it through the Student Rewards app. You will need the barcode ready to scan on game day, so make sure your phone is fully charged!

Students can request a ticket through the SC Rewards or Cockpit Rewards app. The window to request a ticket is from Friday the week before the game to Tuesday at 3 pm or 3:30 pm. Requests are prioritized by reward points, so students are encouraged to attend as many sporting events as possible to increase their chances of receiving a ticket. Once notified that they have been awarded a ticket, students must claim it through the same app. After claiming their ticket, they can access it through the Student Rewards app and will need the barcode to scan on game day.

Students with lower-level tickets will enter through the 'Student Gate' at the northeast corner of Williams-Brice Stadium and will receive a wristband. They must wear this wristband for the entire game. The student lower-level gates open two hours in advance, and students must enter by halftime. After this time, the student gates will close, and entry will not be permitted. Students with upper-level tickets will enter through the northeast corner gates or any public non-student gates and will not receive a wristband. There are two dedicated student sections in the upper deck: sections 508 and 509.

Student ticket penalties

University of South Carolina students must follow the student ticket policy to maintain their ticket privileges. Students who violate the policy may face referral to the Office of Student Judicial Programs, suspension from athletic events for a calendar year, loss of reward points, or referral to the USC Police.

• Selling or attempting to distribute a student ticket.
• Requesting to use another student’s ticket or allowing someone else to use yours.
• Copying or altering a student ticket.
• Showing a false, copied, or altered ticket at the gate.
• Presenting another student’s ticket at the gate.
• Accessing or attempting to access another student’s ticketing account.
• Failing to have a lower deck wristband in the lower deck student section for football.
• Giving your lower deck wristband to another student for football.
• Possessing any alcohol in the lower deck student section for football, even if purchased legally from another section of the stadium.
• Violating any rules at the venue.
• Failing to present your CarolinaCard upon request.
• Failing to abide by the Gamecock Fan Code of Conduct.
• Presenting or using another student’s CarolinaCard.

In addition to the above violations, students who do not attend a game and fail to cancel their ticket by 5:00 pm on the Friday before kickoff will receive penalty strikes. Two no-shows will result in limited access to upper-level seating for the rest of the season, while three no-shows will lead to revoked football ticket privileges for the remainder of the season.
