Logging Into Your Benedictine University Student Account

Check your personal email for a welcome message from the Benedictine IT department

You can also use your credentials to log in to Zoom at https://benu.zoom.us. If you are logging in from a mobile app, choose the SSO option.

Log in to your Benedictine email account at http://webmail.ben.edu

To log in to your Benedictine email account, you must first open a browser and go to http://webmail.ben.edu. This page will redirect you to the O365 login page.

You will then need to enter your complete Benedictine email address and password to log in. For students, this will be your B number followed by @ben.edu (e.g. b0101011@ben.edu). For employees, it will be the first initial of your first name followed by your last name (e.g. jdoe@ben.edu).

It is important to note that Benedictine University uses email for official correspondence, so you should check your email, including your junk or spam folders, regularly. You can also set up your mobile device to connect to your email account.

Use your Benedictine email and password to log in to Zoom

To log in to your Benedictine University student account, you will need to use your Benedictine email address and password.

Your student number is referred to as your "B Number" at Benedictine University. This number is given to you by the Admissions department and is the letter 'b' followed by a unique seven-digit number. Your email address is your B Number with @ben.edu appended to it. For example, if your B Number is b1234567, your email address will be b1234567@ben.edu.

Once you have registered, you will receive a welcome email from the Benedictine IT department with instructions on how to claim your student user account. This email will be sent to the personal email address you used in your application. If you haven't received this email after matriculation, check your spam filters and junk folders.

After setting up your account, you can log in to your email by opening a browser and going to http://webmail.ben.edu. You can also set up your mobile device to connect to your email account.

To log in to Zoom, go to https://benu.zoom.us and use your Benedictine email address and password. If you are logging in from a mobile app, choose the SSO option. Every student has a Zoom licensed (Pro) account, which allows you to schedule and host meetings, share your video and screen, and record meetings to your computer. Please note that cloud recording is not available with the student license.

Use your credentials to log in to D2L, Benedictine's learning management system

To log in to your Benedictine University student account, you will need to create your student user account password first. After registering (matriculating), you will receive a welcome email from the Benedictine IT department with instructions on how to claim your student user account. This will be sent to the personal email address you used to apply. The email will contain instructions on how to create your password and set up Multifactor Authentication (MFA) to secure your account.

Now, you can use your credentials to log in to D2L, Benedictine's learning management system. Go to https://ben.desire2learn.com/d2l/login and enter your Benedictine email address and password. D2L, also known as Desire to Learn or Brightspace, is used for most online classes and as a supplement to in-person classes.

Note that your student user account password must follow certain requirements, and your student user account is linked with the Microsoft 365 service.
