• Engaging in service to the university, such as serving on committees, participating in faculty governance, and accepting administrative duties.
• Protecting academic freedom and ensuring that outside commitments do not interfere with their obligations to the University.

In addition, academic appointees who are teachers have further responsibilities, including:

• Ensuring a clear connection between the advance description and the conduct and content of each course, to enable efficient subject selection by students.
• Clearly stating course goals and informing students of testing and grading systems, ensuring these are intellectually justifiable and consistent with academic regulations.
• Planning and regulating class time with an awareness of its value, and meeting classes regularly.

Librarians, as academic appointees, have specific responsibilities related to the collection, dissemination, and preservation of information and source materials. They instruct and assist in finding and evaluating information and ensure its availability, following the Code of Ethics of the American Library Association and its Library Bill of Rights.

Student Conduct Process
