The university has schools and colleges spread across these three states, with each campus having a unique osteopathic focus that includes whole-person healthcare and serving the underserved.
The Arizona campus was established in the 1990s and is located on a 59-acre plot in Mesa, approximately 25 miles from Phoenix. The School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) is housed at this campus, which includes a 100,000-square-foot building on a 22-acre plot. The Mesa campus serves as the anchor for the Arizona Health and Technology Park, a 132-acre triangle dedicated to education, healthcare, and technology, owned by ATSU and Vanguard Health Systems. The Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, which opened in 2003, and the School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA), which opened in 2006, are both located at this campus. The College for Healthy Communities is the newest college at ATSU, educating Physician Assistants (PAs) in California.
