To locate your second identifying number, or emplID, for the University of Miami, follow these steps:
First, log in to the CaneLink Dashboard. From the menu page, click on the 'My Profile' tab. From the options that appear, select 'General Information'. Here, you should be able to view your emplID.
Your emplID is different from your University identification number (C number or C#), which can be used to access information such as your grade point average (GPA) and contact information. Your C number has not changed, but your faculty may also refer to your emplID, which starts with a "5".

Getting a physical ID card
If you are a new student at Miami University and would like to use a physical ID card instead of a Digital ID, you can complete the Digital ID Opt-Out form or visit the Campus Services Center for assistance. You will be notified when your card is ready for pick-up, usually within 1-2 hours during normal business hours. You can then pick up your card at the Campus Services Center.
To obtain a physical ID card, you must have a photo on file. Social media profile-type photos will not be accepted. If your photo has been approved, you can add your Miami Digital ID to your iPhone or Apple Watch by opening GET Mobile and selecting 'Miami University of Ohio'. Log in using your Miami credentials and complete the DUO authentication. Then, select the "Add to Apple Wallet" button and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
If you receive a "Could not add card" message, this may mean that someone else's iCloud account is active on your phone, or that your Digital ID is loaded onto a different device. In this case, you must revoke that card or create/log in with a different iCloud account. If someone else's Apple ID is active on your phone, you should create a new one. After that, you can add your Miami Digital ID to your personal Apple ID.
If you are still unable to use your Digital ID, you may obtain a temporary access card at the Marcum Hotel & Conference Center. You will then need to go to the Campus Services Center during normal business hours to receive your permanent replacement ID card.

Replacing a lost, stolen, or broken ID
If your Miami University ID card is lost, stolen, or broken, you may obtain a new one. All replacement ID fees are charged to your bursar account. If your Miami ID is lost or stolen, the replacement fee is $20. If your card is broken, the replacement is free, but you must turn in the broken ID when your new one is issued. If you are unable to turn in your broken ID, the replacement fee is $10.
